Limestone powder granulation test report analysis

Raw material: limestone powder (calcium carbonate powder)

Machine: new type organic fertilizer granulator

Moisture: about 20%.

Granulation rate: up to more than 90%. Among them, the small particles of 1-2 mm account for about 30-40%, the large particles of 2-4 mm account for about 50-60%, and the other oversized particles and the powder below 1 mm account for about 10%, the granulation rate is very high.

Purpose of the experiment:

The aim of this experiment was to granulate limestone powder using a new type organic fertilizer granulator and to analyze the effect of granulation under different moisture conditions. By comparing and analyzing the results, granulation recommendations are provided.

Experimental Procedure:

Prepare a sample of limestone powder with a fineness of 100-250 mesh.

Mix the limestone powder with an appropriate amount of moisture to achieve a moisture content of about 20%.

The mixture was put into a new type organic fertilizer granulator and the machine was started for granulation.

The proportion of different sized particles during granulation was observed and recorded.

Results:

After treatment in the new type organic fertilizer granulator, the limestone powder presented a high granulation rate of more than 90%. The specific analysis results are as follows:

The small particles of 1-2 mm accounted for about 30-40%, with a higher quantity.

Large particles of 2-4 mm accounted for about 50-60% with higher quantity.

Other oversized particles and powders below 1 mm accounted for about 10% and were less in number.

Discussion & Suggestion:

According to the customer demand, mainly small particles products are needed. According to the experimental results, some conclusions and recommendations can be drawn:

Moisture has a significant effect on the granulation effect, when the moisture is low, the proportion of small particles is higher, and when the moisture is high, the proportion of large particles is higher.

In order to obtain more small granules product, it is recommended to reduce the moisture content. You can try to reduce the amount of added water or extend the mixing time to achieve lower moisture.

If it is desired to obtain more large particles product, it can be tried to increase the moisture content.

Conclusion:

Through this experiment, we can conclude the advantages of new type organic fertilizer granulator in granulation of limestone powder. According to the adjustment of different moisture conditions, the formation of different size granules can be realized. It is recommended to reasonably adjust the moisture content to meet the desired product characteristics according to customer requirements. Meanwhile, further experiments and comparisons can also be conducted on different raw materials and different equipment to obtain a more accurate granulation program.
